Internet Fax
What is the benefit?
You can save time and money by usingthe Internet Fax feature. You can send fax
message to anywhere in the world without making an international telephone
call. The Internet Fax feature provides you not only simple sending and
receiving of fax messages but forwarding or broadcasting fax messages.
Fax transmissions go through the Internet transported via E-Mail. You can
select already programmed addresses from one touch/speed dial locations, or
enter text using dial pad by pressing Shift + [1].
Receiving Internet Fax
When your Brother MFC is used on the network it is capable of receiving Internet
Faxes from other Internet Fax machines.
E-mail and Fax Forwarding
Received E-Mail and fax messages can be forwarded to other Fax machine via
standard telephone lines, PC or Internet Fax via E-mail. This function can be
configured using the Web management Utility or through the front panel. (Please
see your MFC User guide to check that this function is supported. This function
is only for monochrome models.)
Relayed Broadcasting
The Relay Broadcasting feature allows the Brother MFC in conjunction with the
optional NC-8100H Print/Fax Server to be used as a
Relay Station, allowing users to send a document as an E-Mail attachment
(Tiff-f file format) from either a Brother MFC or PC over the Internet to
another Brother MFC, which can then relay that message to up to 48 G3 fax
machines over conventional telephone lines.
Relay
Broadcasting requires the Brother MFC be connected to an E-mail Server on a LAN
that is connected directly to the Internet. The E-mail server must support both
the SMTP and POP3 protocols.
To prevent unauthorized use of the Relay Broadcast function, the Brother MFC it
needs to be configured in such a way that only certain "trusted" domains can
Relay Broadcast through the FAX/MFC. To use this function, you must specify the
domain names that you trust to use the MFC. If your E-Mail address is
jack@brother.co.uk, your domain name can be identified as "brother.co.uk."
